In honor and celebration of Massachusetts' official recognition of Juneteenth as a state holiday, the MetroWest Commission on the Status of Women is hosting a bookmark-making competition for middle and high school students in our region. Here are the details:

  • All students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate

  • Eligible students can create a 2" x 7" bookmark celebrating/highlighting Juneteenth, and email it by Friday, May 27 to metrowestcommission@gmail.com (Include your name, age, and the school that you attend)

  • There is no entry or registration fee

  • There will be a middle school and high school winner

  • Winners will receive a $25 gift card and we will print, donate and distribute the winning student's bookmark–one for each child, teacher and staff member–to their school the second week of June
