JSTOR offers digitized back issues of academic journals. This database is provided by the Boston Public Library (BPL).
If you have a BPL eCard or a physical BPL card, then:
Go to BPL's A-Z Online Resources, then click JSTOR.
Enter your BPL eCard number and PIN. (Or, if you have a physical BPL card, use that account info.)
[If you DO NOT have a BPL eCard or a physical BPL card, then sign up for a BPL eCard. Check your email for the eCard number–and remember your PIN. Then follow the above directions.]

How do I get a public library card?
Boston Public Library eCard
If you already have a Boston Public Library account, then you are not eligible for an eCard. If you lost your card or if it is expired, then please check these FAQs to find out what to do.
An eCard is a BPL card that provides access to all online BPL resources, including databases (like JSTOR) and Libby. Click here to register for a BPL eCard.
To borrow physical materials from BPL, upgrade this eCard at your nearest BPL Library For more info, click here.
Minuteman Library Network eCard
If you already have a Minuteman Library Network account, then you are not eligible for an eCard. If you lost your card or if it is expired, then contact an MLN member Public Library.
Click here to reigster for an MLN eCard. This electronic MLN library card is temporary; it is good for at least 6 months. Upgrade this eCard to a card with in-library borrowing privileges at your nearest MLN member Public Library.
The MLN eCard allows you to use state-provided online research databases within MA only, place up to 5 requests in the MLN Catalog, and use the MLN Digital Catalog.
Cite sources as you find them, using MLA 9 Style.
Most LS Library databases provide citations (below the article, or via a link).
NoodleTools (also notecards, auto-generated Works Cited)
[NOTE: Library databases provide bibliographic citations; just export or copy/paste them.]
